Thank You

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those (before & after) Eibhlín’s passing for their support.

First and foremost to our family, friends, neighbours, colleagues & Eibhlín's godparents whose presence makes each day more special and fruitful in the face of this tragedy. While often taken for granted, we want you to know how much your support has meant to us and we will come through this stronger as a result of your being there at every stage.

A special thank you to Dr. Edel McAteer whose continued support both professionally and personally has kept us strong through this difficult time. Edel has gone above and beyond what we ever expected and given of her time so generously throughout this journey.

The following was posted on Facebook shortly after Eibhlín’s birth. It was a thank you to all those nurses and midwives who looked after the three of us.

“To the Midwives and nurses of Holles St (and everywhere) a huge thank you. Your care, understanding and attention you show is unbelievable. The last few days have been life-changing for us and you all were there to support both Louise and I with that. As some of you know (most by now but don't worry pics will no doubt follow) on Thursday morning at half 9 Louise and I had a little baby daughter who we have named Eibhlín. As I write this she is sleeping beside us and all we can do is stare and love her. A journey now begins into a new chapter of life…. However this post is not about us but to thank from the bottom of our hearts the midwives and nurses who work so hard to ensure mum, baby and dad's needs are met. ..... Without fuss, annoyance or any sense of inconvenience these staff give so much of themselves and I won't believe anyone who claims it's just a job! From what I saw it's a job no one could do in a mechanistic  way. It really is amazing what they do...”
